The Gladstone Hockey Association needed to replace an ageing amenities block that had reached the end of its serviceable life. The existing facility was structurally compromised with failing plumbing and no longer met the standard expected by players, coaches, or visiting officials. Traditional construction was ruled out due to cost and complexity — the club needed a turnkey solution delivered quickly, within budget, and without disrupting the playing season.
Multitrade designed, manufactured, and installed a custom 12×3m amenities building — purpose-built to the club’s brief, compliant with Gladstone Regional Council requirements, and engineered to C2 wind rating. The full turnkey scope included council planning approvals, geotechnical testing, a new 12×6m concrete slab, crane delivery and placement, PWD-compliant external ramp and landings, electrical connection to the existing facility, and plumbing tie-in to council mains. The building features 7 toilets (including 2 ambulant and 1 PWD), 4 tiled showers, 5 stainless-steel basins, a 315L hot water system, bench seats, and coat hooks — fully DDA compliant.
